Tazkarti ID: how to register and book football tickets in Egypt
You need a Tazkarti ID to book a ticket and get into any football match in Egypt. Register on tazkarti.com with your national ID (or passport) and a photo on a white background, buy your first ticket, then collect the card, which Tazkarti's FAQ prices at EGP 100, from an authorised outlet.
Every fan who wants to watch a football match in a stadium in Egypt needs a Tazkarti ID. It is the fan card that, together with the ticket, gets you through the gates, and you cannot book a match ticket without one. Tazkarti's FAQ gives the cost of the card as EGP 100, and you only receive it once you have bought a ticket. Ticket prices are not fixed: they depend on the match and the ticket category.
Who can register
Egyptians must be over 12 and need a valid national ID, a personal photo on a white background and a mobile number. Other nationalities need a valid passport, a personal photo on a white background and a personal email address. The photo is printed on your card; Tazkarti says a phone photo is fine if it meets the same conditions, ideally taken by someone else.
Step by step: registering
On tazkarti.com, click Register, then Egyptian or Other Nationalities. 2. Choose the language for your emails and text messages, and accept the terms. 3. Egyptians enter a mobile number and type in the code sent to it; other nationalities do the same with an email address. 4. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your national ID (and birth certificate) or passport. 5. Upload a picture of your ID or passport and your photo. 6. Submit and wait for the review. If you are accepted, your Tazkarti ID number and password arrive by text message and email. If not, you get a Request Code: click Update Information, enter the code and the last four digits of your ID or passport number, fix the request and send it again. After three rejections the ID or passport number is blocked.
If you registered for AFCON, your account still works: sign in with the same Tazkarti ID number and password.
Children and family
Anyone over 12 has to register on their own. Children between 3 and 12 are added as dependents: sign in, open Dependents, click Add New Dependent, enter their details and upload the documents, and wait for approval. You can then book tickets for them.
Step by step: booking a match ticket
Sign in and go to Matches. 2. Find the match and click Book Ticket. 3. Choose the team you support and the number of tickets. 4. Assign each ticket to yourself, an approved dependent or another fan by their Tazkarti ID. 5. Go to checkout, then Pay Now, and pay by credit card or through the Fawry network.
If you choose Fawry, you have only 4 hours to pay before the booking is cancelled, and after missing the deadline twice the Fawry option is removed and only card payment remains.
The rules on tickets
You can book at most 6 tickets for one match, each for a different fan; one fan cannot hold two tickets for the same match. You cannot pick a seat: you choose the team and the category, and seating is first come, first served. Tickets can be bought on the day of a match if any are left. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, and only the fan named on a ticket can use it.
Collecting the card and the tickets
After paying, collect your card and print your tickets at any authorised outlet listed on Tazkarti's Our Stores page. Someone else can collect them for you: in My Profile, click Authorize Friend to Collect and enter their name and national ID or Tazkarti ID; they then show their own ID at the outlet. A lost card is reprinted at an outlet for a fee, on showing a valid national ID or passport.
On match day
Gate opening and closing times are announced each match day. You cannot bring charger cables, earphones, lighters, sharp objects, water bottles, perfume or body spray, food, fireworks or alcohol.
Common questions
Can I change my details later? Once your request is accepted, only your account details (password and language) can be changed, not your personal information.
I forgot my Tazkarti ID number or password. On the Sign in page, use Forgot your Tazkarti ID (with your national ID or passport number) or Forgot Password (with your Tazkarti ID and the last four digits of your ID or passport). Customer service is on 15355.
