Saturday weather: thunderstorms in the south, Cairo high of 30

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects warm to hot autumn weather by day on Saturday, 10 October, from the north coast to Greater Cairo, and very hot weather in southern Upper Egypt. Nights and early mornings stay cool. Cairo will see a high of 30 and a low of 20 degrees.

Light to moderate rain, at times with thunder, is expected over central and southern Upper Egypt. It may become heavy enough to cause flash floods at intervals in parts of central and southern Sinai and the Red Sea governorate. Thunderstorms may bring strong gusts and lightning in some areas. Light rain is also possible on the north-west coast and in northern Lower Egypt, and a very small chance of light rain extends to parts of Greater Cairo.

Water mist is expected from 4 to 8 in the morning on some roads in the north, Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, the Canal cities and central Sinai, and may be thick at times. Winds may also raise sand and dust in parts of Greater Cairo during the day.
