Housing Fund to rank applicants for rental flats in eight new cities

The Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund announced on Thursday that it will apply a priority system to people who applied for rental units in eight new cities under the "Housing for All Egyptians 9" announcement. The Fund said the step follows the number of applicants registered so far.

The cities are New October, Capital Gardens, 15 May, New Obour, New Nubaria, New Aswan, New Sohag and New Qena. The Fund said the ranking will follow the rules already printed in the terms booklet for the announcement. It did not publish the priority categories or any new dates.

The announcement came a day after the Cabinet, at its weekly meeting on Wednesday 7 October, approved a decision by the Fund's board dated 15 September that sets additional provisions and conditions for the rental track of the programme. The text of those conditions has not been published in the reports seen so far.

Applicants in the eight cities should check the terms booklet and the Fund's official channels for how the ranking affects them.
