School first-term exams start 9 January, mid-year break from 23 January
The Education Ministry's calendar puts first-term exams for transfer grades on 9 to 14 January 2027, with the mid-year break running from 23 January to 4 February.
9JanuaryThe Ministry of Education and Technical Education has set out the first-term exam dates and the mid-year break in its calendar for the 2026/2027 school year.
Transfer grades sit their first-term exams from 9 to 14 January 2027. Students taking the preparatory certificate follow from 16 to 21 January. The mid-year break then runs from Saturday 23 January to Thursday 4 February 2027.
Each governorate will approve and publish its own detailed timetable within those dates, so the exact day for each subject will come from the local education directorate.
Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif has said end-of-term questions should be drawn from classroom assessments, the school textbook and the approved model exams.
