Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza

Gala de Danza, an evening of ballet, contemporary dance and live music, comes to the Grand Egyptian Museum on Thursday 5 November. The show is presented by GEM Experience, and the organisers say it brings together dancers from the Royal Ballet in London, the Dutch National Ballet and the MAGICLAB company with acclaimed musicians and what they call immersive artistic experiences.

What sets this edition apart is who else is on stage. More than 100 young performers from schools across Egypt will dance alongside the visiting professionals, according to the event page on Tickets Marche. The stage is set against the museum itself and the Giza Pyramids behind it, and the organisers' own photographs for Cairo were shot on the museum's Grand Staircase, among the colossal royal statues, and on rooftops facing the pyramids.

Gala de Danza is a touring production that describes itself as a celebration of dance, music and art. Its Cairo date lands in the same week the Grand Egyptian Museum marks one year since its full opening, and it adds to a growing list of big evening shows held at the museum, which has hosted concerts and orchestra nights since it opened its doors. The full cast list is published on the gala's own website, galadedanza.com, under 2026 Cast.

The night runs to a strict timetable. Doors open at 7pm and close at 8:45pm, and the performance starts at 9pm. Late entry is not allowed, so anyone driving out to the museum on the Cairo to Alexandria Desert Road should plan for traffic around the plateau on a Thursday evening. The dress code is formal. The show is recommended for ages 8 and up, and anyone under 18 must come with an adult.

Tickets are sold on Tickets Marche in several tiers. General admission seats with a restricted side view start at EGP 2,195, other side seats are EGP 3,165, and the price climbs through further tiers to EGP 18,820 for the most expensive seats. A seating layout is linked from the ticket page, so check which tier you are booking before you pay. Sakkara Group International is the event's official travel sponsor for visitors coming from abroad.
