The Cairo International Book Fair has its dates for 2027. The 58th edition runs from 20 January to 2 February at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo, and Qatar is the guest of honour, CairoScene reported. The fair's main personality and the personality of the children's book fair have not been chosen yet; a higher committee will pick them.
A new Cairo International Book Fair app is due in December. It is planned to let visitors search for titles and publishers, find stands on an interactive map and book entry tickets online, with publishers' new books also on sale online and delivered at home through the year. It is being built with e-Finance.
The fair, first held in 1969, is one of the biggest dates in Cairo's year, with book sales, talks and a children's programme. Ticket prices and opening hours for 2027 have not been announced yet. Put the two weeks in your diary now, and plan a weekday visit if you can: weekends at the fair are the busiest days.
