The updated BMW 7 Series is now officially on sale in Egypt. Global Auto Group, the official distributor of BMW and MINI in the country, has priced the 740i from EGP 11.9 million, making it the first version of BMW's flagship saloon to reach Egyptian showrooms in its new form.

The car was launched at the ninth El Gouna Film Festival, which ran from 15 to 23 October. Global Auto Group kept it on closed display at the festival from 15 to 21 October before the official launch, which composer Omar Khairat took part in.

Under the bonnet of the 740i is a 3-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with turbocharging and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It makes up to 400 hp and 580 Nm, drives through an eight-speed Steptronic automatic, and reaches 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, according to the figures released with the Egyptian launch.

The outside changes are at the front: a split grille, BMW's Iconic Glow lighting and slimmer LED headlights, on wheels of 20 to 22 inches. Inside, the dashboard is built around BMW Panoramic iDrive, with a 17.9-inch central screen, a 14.6-inch screen for the front passenger and a 3D head-up display. The Sky Lounge panoramic roof, Merino leather seats and wood trim are listed for the Egyptian car. In the back, a 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen folds down from the roof, the Bowers and Wilkins sound system is fitted, and in Executive Lounge mode the rear seat reclines up to 42.5 degrees. Driving Assistant Plus, Parking Assistant Plus and 360-degree cameras complete the list.

BMW revealed the updated 7 Series in April 2026. Global Auto Group says it is the second BMW in Egypt to use the technology of BMW's Neue Klasse, after the iX3.

Only the 740i has an Egyptian price so far. Global Auto Group has not published prices for the electric i7 or the plug-in hybrid M760e, so anyone waiting for those should ask a BMW showroom before deciding. At EGP 11.9 million, the 740i sits at the top of what is officially on sale in Egypt, and prices can change, so confirm the figure and the equipment list with the showroom before you pay a deposit.
