Geely Galaxy EX5 EM-R range-extender SUV arrives in Egypt from EGP 1.35m

Abou Ghaly Motors has launched the Geely Galaxy EX5 EM-R in Egypt in three trims priced at EGP 1.35 million, 1.5 million and 1.6 million.

Abou Ghaly Motors, Geely's agent in Egypt, has added the Galaxy EX5 EM-R to its line-up, Masrawy reported on 22 October. It is a five-seat family SUV driven only by an electric motor; its 1.5-litre petrol engine works as a generator that charges the battery and never turns the wheels.

The motor makes 218 hp and 262 Nm, the car is front-wheel drive and reaches 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. Total range is given as more than 1,000 km. The first trims carry an 18.4 kWh battery and the top trim a 29.8 kWh one.

Inside there is a 15.4-inch central screen, a digital instrument panel and a head-up display, and, depending on the trim, a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats with memory, a powered tailgate, wireless charging and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound system on the higher trims. Safety equipment includes lane-keeping help, blind-spot warning and surround cameras.

The three trims cost EGP 1.35 million, 1.5 million and 1.6 million. The warranty and the date cars reach showrooms have not been announced, so ask a Geely dealer about both and about which battery each trim carries before you book.
