Monday weather: morning fog, a cooler night and a Cairo high of 30
The Meteorological Authority expects warm autumn weather on Monday 12 October, with fog on roads from 4 to 8am and a low of 19 in Cairo.
Egypt's General Authority for Meteorology expects warm to hot daytime weather in Greater Cairo on Monday 12 October, with a high of 30 degrees and a low of 19. Early evening will be mild and the end of the night and early morning cool. Active winds over Greater Cairo should make shade and the night feel milder.
Shallow fog is expected from 4 to 8am on some roads to and from the north, reaching Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, the Canal cities and central Sinai. Light to moderate rain, sometimes with thunder, is possible over Halaib, Shalateen, Marsa Alam, parts of South Sinai and the Gulf of Aqaba. The chance of light rain is about 20% on the northern coast and north Delta, and about 10% over Greater Cairo.
Other highs and lows: Alexandria 30 and 20, Ismailia 31 and 19, Matrouh 32 and 21, Sharm El Sheikh 33 and 25, Aswan 36 and 24.
If you drive early, allow extra time and keep your distance on the roads out of Cairo until about 8am. A light layer is useful for the early morning, when the city drops to around 19 degrees, while the afternoon stays summery at 30.
