The iPhone Duo now has an Egyptian price. Tradeline, the chain that sells Apple products in Egypt, opened pre-orders for Apple's first folding iPhone at EGP 172,799 for the 256GB model, EGP 199,999 for 512GB, EGP 239,999 for 1TB and EGP 289,999 for 2TB, Egypt Telegraph reported. Tradeline's own online store lists the 512GB in star white at EGP 199,999, shown as unavailable when we checked this afternoon.

The phone comes in two colours, star white and night sky, in a grade 5 titanium frame. It opens out to a 7.6-inch screen and has a 5.4-inch screen on the outside. In the United States it starts at $1,999.

Pre-orders are taken online only, through Tradeline's website and app, and buyers have to fill in a purchase request form. Phones that were pre-ordered are handed over from Friday 23 October, the day Apple's Egypt website gives for the phone's arrival. If you want one, order from Tradeline's site or app rather than a reseller's page, so the phone carries the local warranty, and check the price on the order before you pay.
