The head of the Egyptian Cancer Society received the 2026 Global Oncology Ambassador Award from the Worldwide Innovative Networking Consortium in Rhode Island.
Hisham Ghazaly, who heads the Egyptian Cancer Society and leads the Faculty of Medicine Research Institute at Ain Shams University, has received the 2026 Global Oncology Ambassador Award, CairoScene reported. He is the first Egyptian and the first Arab to be given it.
The award comes from the Worldwide Innovative Networking (WIN) Consortium, a network working on personalised cancer medicine, and was presented at its annual conference in Rhode Island. The Egyptian Cancer Society said it recognises his work on precision medicine at the institute, where he leads the Cancer Biobank and Integrated Genomic Solutions project, and his work with institutions in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East on access to advanced cancer care in lower-income countries.
