Cairo Design Week returns from 19 to 28 November, now at the Egyptian Museum
The fourth edition spreads across Zamalek, Downtown and Heliopolis, with art in Old Cairo, the Egyptian Museum's gardens in Tahrir for the first time and a new app to find your way.
Cairo Design Week holds its fourth edition from 19 to 28 November 2026, spread over three districts: Zamalek, Downtown and Heliopolis, with its art programme reaching into Old Cairo. For the first time the festival also moves into the gardens of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Scene Home reported.
The ten days mix exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops and pop-ups. Three new strands join this year: one that brings UNESCO-listed Egyptian crafts into contemporary design, inMotion, about mobility and car design using products made in Egypt, and TheMENAEdit, made with Creative Dialogues, which gathers designers from Egypt and the Arab world. A new app will link the locations so visitors can plan their route.
The festival was founded by Hisham Mahdy, who said: "The capabilities are here. The talent is here. The identity is here."
The full day-by-day programme and ticket details have not been published yet. Keep the dates free, plan one district a day since the venues are far apart, and watch the festival's Instagram, cairo.design.week, for the schedule.
