Shahira Lasheen launches her first couture bags, made to order in Cairo
The Egyptian couture house's first bag collection is handmade by Egyptian artisans, about 40 hours a bag, and sold made to order from its Garden City atelier.
Shahira Lasheen, the Egyptian designer known for couture and bridal wear, has launched her house's first couture bag collection, Cairo 360 reported. The bags share one signature shape, made again in different fabrics and colour combinations.
Each bag takes about 40 hours of handwork by Egyptian artisans, with floral embroidery, piping, satin ribbon work and hand-sewn embellishment. They are made to order, so a client can choose the colours, materials, embroidery and finish while the shape stays the same.
The bags are ordered at the SHAHIRA LASHEEN atelier in Garden City, and clients abroad can order through the house's official channels. No prices have been published, so ask the atelier for a quote and how long an order takes before you commit.
