Ismailia International Folk Arts Festival opens its 26th edition today
Fifteen Egyptian and foreign troupes perform in Ismailia from 10 to 16 October, starting with a street parade at 5pm today.
The 26th Ismailia International Folk Arts Festival starts today, Saturday 10 October, with an artistic parade at 5pm. The official opening is on Sunday, 11 October, at 8pm at the Ismailia Culture Palace, performances run from 12 to 15 October, and the closing night is Friday, 16 October.
Fifteen troupes take part: eight from Russia, Romania, Lebanon, Tanzania, Sudan, Algeria, Jordan and Indonesia, and seven Egyptian groups from the culture palaces of Ismailia, Beni Suef, Alexandria, Arish, Kafr El-Sheikh and Aswan, plus an Ismailia children's troupe.
Shows are spread across Sheikh Zayed Garden, Al-Usra Club, Al-Danfa Club, the Engineers Syndicate and the Ismailia Culture Palace, with more in Fayed, Qantara West and Al-Qassasin. The Ministry of Culture organises the festival with Ismailia Governorate. Entry details have not been announced.
