Egyptian university students can get Google AI Plus free for a year

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced a new offer with Google for students at Egyptian universities: a free year of the Google AI Plus plan. It is part of the "One Million Egyptian Students Create with Gemini" initiative, which also runs training through the year on using AI tools in study and research.

The offer is open to students enrolled at Egyptian universities who are over 18. Registration runs until 31 December 2026, and the free year starts from the day a student signs up. The ministry put the plan's value at about EGP 3,000.

The plan includes Gemini, Gemini Notebook (the tool formerly called NotebookLM) for summarising books and notes, image generation, short videos of up to 10 seconds and 400 GB of cloud storage. Google is also offering students up to 75 percent off its Google AI Pro plan, and 70 percent off a plan that combines Google AI Pro with YouTube Premium.

Students who qualify sign up through Google's student offer page, which the ministry linked in its announcement. The free year ends 12 months after registration, so a student who signs up in October keeps it until next October. Check the terms on Google's page before you register, as the offer is set by Google.
