Environmental approvals go online, paper applications end on 1 November
Investors and consultants must file environmental impact requests through the new IDEIA system from 1 November, when paper files will no longer be accepted.
The Ministry of Local Development and Environment has moved environmental impact assessment requests to a digital system called IDEIA, run with the Environmental Affairs Agency. A ministerial decree sets 1 November 2026 as the last day for paper applications; after that, requests not filed through the system will not be considered.
Investors and consultants register on the platform, open a request, enter the project's details and upload the documents and the assessment study. Fees are paid online, the file goes to technical review by the agency and the bodies concerned, and any missing papers are requested through the same system. The approval itself is issued electronically, and applicants can follow their request's status online.
The ministry says the system also links the agency's branches and technical committees in one database of projects and approvals. The documents required depend on the project's category.
