El Gouna Film Festival opens its ninth edition on 15 October
The festival runs from 15 to 23 October on the Red Sea, with Mona Zaki receiving the Creative Achievement Award and the Egyptian film "Safe Exit" in competition.
El Gouna Film Festival holds its ninth edition from 15 to 23 October in the Red Sea resort town of El Gouna, the festival announced at a press conference in Cairo on 22 September.
Actress Mona Zaki will receive the festival's Creative Achievement Award. The Egyptian film "Safe Exit" is in the feature narrative competition after earlier festival screenings abroad. Asharq News reported that the programme has 36 feature films.
The industry section, CineGouna, runs alongside the screenings. Critic and programmer Andrew Mohsen is the festival's artistic director for this edition.
The festival's website links to TicketEgypt for tickets and says accreditation is open. Ticket prices and the full screening schedule were not on the site when we checked on 9 October.
