Eight months after the Chinese carmaker launched in Egypt in February, BYD's local agent ManDream, part of Mansour Group, now has 10 showrooms and sales points across Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, the Red Sea and Suez, according to Al Mal.
Service is handled at three centres, in Cairo, Giza and Alexandria. The agent plans to extend its network to the Delta and Upper Egypt governorates next. Its Cairo area showrooms include technology centres in Sheikh Zayed and at Park St in New Cairo.
Compulsory insurance figures for September show BYD led the hybrid and range-extender segment with 451 cars and registered 264 fully electric cars. In total, about 3,219 electric cars and 25,261 passenger cars were registered in Egypt that month. The brand's line-up here includes the Dolphin Surf, the Sealion 6 EV and the Sealion 6 DM-i plug-in hybrid.
