AndrOmidA plays Pink Floyd at Teatro 90 on 19 November, from EGP 350

AndrOmidA, which bills itself as the Egyptian Pink Floyd tribute project, plays Teatro 90 in New Cairo on Thursday 19 November. The show is organised by Teatro 90 with Fada Arts and promises the band's long guitar solos and the rock anthems that made Pink Floyd one of the most played bands on Egyptian classic rock nights.

Doors open at 7pm and the music starts at 8pm. Teatro 90 is the theatre of Narmer International College in New Cairo, a seated hall that has become one of the east side's busiest stages this season, with comedy, improv, family theatre and concerts on most weekends.

Pink Floyd's catalogue suits a seated room. The British band's albums from the 1970s, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall among them, are built on long instrumental passages, slow builds and big solos rather than three-minute singles, and a tribute night lives or dies on how faithfully the players recreate that sound. The group has not published its set list, so which songs make the night is still a surprise.

Tickets are on sale on Tickets Marche in three categories: Silver at EGP 350, Gold at EGP 450 and Platinum at EGP 550. At the time of writing all three were still available. A full ticket is needed from the age of 16, and no one under 16 is allowed in.

The venue's rules are worth knowing before you go: food and drinks cannot be taken into the theatre, and cameras are not allowed. The listing says the venue has parking, toilets, food services and security on site.
