The Longines Global Champions Tour, the leading international show jumping series, stops in Egypt for the first time this month. The Grand Prix of Cairo takes place at the Giza Pyramids from 22 to 24 October, and is the first five-star show jumping event the capital has hosted.

It is one of 17 stages in the tour's 2026 season and is staged with the Egyptian Equestrian Federation under a partnership reported to run for five years. Riders compete over three days on a 1.60 metre course for 1.75 million euros in prize money.

The entry list reported so far includes Olympic champion Christian Kukuk of Germany and Britain's Ben Maher and Scott Brash. Nayel Nassar, who has ridden for Egypt at two Olympic Games, and Sameh El Dahan are part of the Cairo Pharaohs team.

Cairo comes late in the season, between Rome and the finals in Rabat, so results count toward the overall titles. Ticket prices have not been published in the reports seen; the organisers are directing fans to the event's own channels for booking.
