Cabinet backs six more months to settle building violations
The Cabinet has approved a draft decree giving owners six more months, starting 5 November 2026, to apply to settle certain building violations, plus a six-month extension for regularising state land.
City5NovemberAt its weekly meeting on Wednesday 7 October, the Cabinet approved a draft decree by the Prime Minister that extends the window for filing settlement requests over certain building violations by a further six months. The new period starts on 5 November 2026.
The extension is meant for people who have not finished the settlement process in the time already allowed, so they can complete the paperwork with their local administrative authority.
At the same meeting the Cabinet approved a draft presidential decree that adds six months to the period for requests to regularise state-owned land, as the current period is about to end.
Both decisions were reported by Al Mal after the meeting. Both are drafts that still have to be issued formally, and the closing dates have not been published yet.
